Nearly 30 miles of SH 130 open!

The northernmost portion of SH 130 opened to the public on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. This section (Segment 1) stretches from I-35 north of Georgetown to US 79 in Hutto. The opening of Segment 1 adds to the 15 miles of Segment 2, which opened in November.

With almost 30 miles of SH 130 open, drivers can now travel from Houston to Waco (via US 290, SH 130 and I-35) without traveling on I-35 through Austin.
